Project Description:
Detroit Contracting Inc. (DCI) was the general contractor on this Capital improvement program at 6 existing Detroit Public Schools to prepare them to meet new school programming changes for the new school year per the requirements of the RFP.
The scope of work included selective demolition, new walls to reconfigure areas to meet the programming changes, architectural finishes upgrades, such as new flooring, repair of damaged floorings, walls and ceilings surface repairs including plaster patching and painting, upgrading restrooms, installing new partitions and accessories, new acoustical ceilings, replacement of doors and door hardware; electrical upgrades included replacing light fixtures, exist signs, emergency lighting, power upgrades to meet changes, and other electrical upgrades; mechanical upgrades included HVAC roof top units replacement, exhaust fans, condensate pumps replacement, miscellaneous duct work, temperature controls; plumbing upgrades included plumbing fixtures upgrades, creating Pre-K restrooms with new plumbing to meet Pre-K requirements, piping replacements and miscellaneous fire protection system upgrades and replacing drinking fountains to meet code requirements.
