Project Description:
 Detroit Contracting, Inc. contracted with DWSD to provide all equipment, labor, materials and services for providing upgrades to the chemical feed system for four (4) water treatment plants, Lake Huron Water Treatment Plant, Southwest Water Treatment Plant, Northeast Water Treatment Plant, and Springwells Water Treatment Plant.
Lake Huron WTP – Constructing and placing in operation all chemical feed systems for Aluminum sulfate (alum) and fluorosilicic acid (fluoride), including installation of transfer pumps, day tanks, metering pumps, process application piping, controls and instrumentation, which includes the installation of a new Ovation Remote I/O panel (RTU), extending the existing fiber-optic network system to the Low Lift Building and integrating signals into the existing control system, modifications to the existing polymer metering pump control panel, piping and valves, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing and HVAC improvements, repairs to fluorosilicic acid bulk tanks including providing new rubber lining in the interior of the tanks.
Southwest Water Treatment Plant – Constructing and placing in operation all chemical feed systems for Aluminum sulfate (alum) and fluorosilicic acid (fluoride), including installation of transfer pumps, day tanks, metering pumps, process application piping, modifications to the existing Phosphoric Acid Feed system control panel, controls and instrumentation, which includes providing I/O signals to the existing Ovation RTU and integrating signals into the existing control system, piping and valves, structural, architectural, electrical, mechanical, plumbing improvements, repairs to fluorosilicic acid bulk tanks including providing new rubber lining in the interior of the tanks.
Northeast Water Treatment Plant – Constructing and placing into operation the new data acquisition units, level transducer, including installation of all electrical work, controls and instrumentation improvements, modifications to and replacement of existing facilities.
Springwells Water Treatment Plant - Constructing and placing into operation the new data acquisition units, including installation of all electrical work, controls and instrumentation improvements, modifications to and replacement of existing facilities.
