Project Description:
Detroit Contracting, Inc. contracted with DWSD to provide all equipment, labor, materials and services for installation of approximately 1,000 linear feet of new concrete baffle walls within Clearwell No.1. Work included: final dewatering of the Clearwell, a new sampling system, as well as providing a complete cleaning and disinfection of the entire structure upon completion of the sampling lines and baffle walls. With the new sampling system a new concrete Water Quality Sampling Structure (WQSS) was required with new instrumentation. The WQSS required a tight sheeted piling structure 40’ deep to erect the concrete structure. A 120 lineal foot of jack and bore casing for the sampling lines was required to mate the new testing equipment to the sample lines within the Clearwell. The new WQSS structure also required a tie-in to the existing site utilities for the sumps and new electrical and control wiring for the the WQSS to the control room. To complete the WQSS new card access and security cameras were installed to be consistent with the existing site security.
