Project Description:
Detroit Contracting Inc. (DCI) was the general contractor on this project which included preparing design documents to complete the construction per the requirements of the RFP. The general scope of work included enhancements to fourteen (14) existing Detroit Public Schools to prepare these schools for the new school year. The specific work included selective demolition of new work items, walls and ceilings surfaces repairs including plaster patching and painting, replacing damaged acoustical ceiling tiles of different sizes and textures, replacing carpet flooring with new VCT tile and base in specified areas, repairing of existing damaged flooring areas including gymnasiums, replacing and repairing light fixtures, in classrooms, corridors, and offices, replacing damaged and repair existing drinking fountains, upgrading specified restrooms, including repairing plumbing fixtures, installing new toilet partitions and accessories, replacing light fixtures, surfaces patching and painting, replacing damaged doors, and minor floor patching. The work also included converting existing restrooms to Pre-K restrooms, and structural repairs and enhancement.
