Project Description:
Detroit Contracting Inc. (DCI) was the construction manager and the lead in the construction/design team which included Cash & Associates, Inc. (the designer). The project scope is as follows:
Henry Ford High School set aside approximately 3,000 square feet of space to be used by Henry Ford Health Systems (HFHS) for the purpose of a health clinic. The space is approximately 75’ x 40’ and contains two means of ingress/egress (one to an interior corridor and one to the building exterior). The space was sub-divided into the following uses:
- Two (2) waiting rooms, one per entrance
- Two (2) receptionist areas, one for each waiting area
- Three (3) exam rooms
- One (1) clean utility room
- One (1) soiled utility room
- One (1) barrier-free unisex rest room
- One (1) staff rest room
- Patient file room

- Office file & storage room
- Mechanical and IT room
- Staff lounge
- Social worker’s office
- Nurse practitioner’s office
- Education/conference room
- Access hallways to properly service the specific rooms and their functions Architectural construction and finishes within the health clinic shall be consistent with HFHS and DPS standards, which ever is greater

All design and construction elements were to comply with DPS and the City of Detroit fire standards and applicable building codes. This was a fast track job that was designed and constructed in six weeks.
