Project Description:
Detroit Contracting, Inc. (DCI) was the construction manager on these projects.  A brief description of the work completed is outlined below: Renovation of an existing building to accommodate special education students.  Extensive ADA upgrades to provide handicapper access throughout the school.  Major HVAC installations throughout building for better climate control.  Complete new fire alarm installation.  New exterior and interior doors.  Modify stairwells to create fire rated egress.  Installation of 2 new parking lots and new concrete walkways around building.  Create new fenced in play area with new play equipment.  Installation of new generator and modification of building electrical for emergency backup power.  Complete technology upgrade throughout building including voice, data, video, and surge suppression.  New security camera system.  New interior doors.  Installation of new generator and modification of building electrical for emergency backup power.  Extensive graphics painting in corridors.  Creation of realistic environments for daily living situations to teach students how to bank, do laundry, cook, clean, operate copiers, etc.
